Solid Ground Camping 2015

HOOSAC VALLEY CAMPING AND SHOW SHERPA CAMPING OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE HERE

MASS MoCA has once again teamed up with the City of North Adams to provide Solid Ground – a field for camping within easy walking distance (.7 miles; a 12 minute walk) from the festival and museum, and convenient to downtown merchants, bars and restaurants. This is a basic, open-field tent site with concession food service (serving attractively priced fresh-cooked fare including full breakfasts, late night fare, and vegetarian offerings), porta-potties, drinking water, and pay-per use showers. A self-monitored, donation-based cell phone changing station will be available. A basketball court and recreation field are nearby.

A second field, at Hoosac Valley Regional High School, is also available for camping and is located just under 8 miles from the festival and museum. This is also a basic, open field tent site with a concession stand serving fresh-cooked “camp fare” food (including breakfasts, late-night snacks, and simple vegetarian offerings). Free and frequent shuttle service will be provided to/from both campsites for the duration of the festival.

NEW for 2015: 3-NIGHT CAMPING OPTION at Solid Ground
Rate at Solid Ground for 3 nights: Friday/Saturday/Sunday: $135

Each Solid Ground tent plot reservation includes:
One 15′ x 18’space
One parking space (either nearby or shuttle serviced) for one non-RV vehicle
Camping is first come first serve for tenting locations.
1 to 2 tents permitted as long as they fit within each plot’s perimeter.
If you already have a confirmed two-night reservation you may upgrade your reservation to three nights for an additional $25. Changes can be made by calling MASS MoCA at 413.662.2111.x1, during regular business hours (11am–5pm every day except Tuesday).

*Check in begins Friday, June 26, at 11am, at the Solid Ground site, and at 12 noon at Hoosac High site. Both sites will be well-signed.
*Solid Ground is located .7 miles south of MASS MoCA, on Rt. 8. Hoosac High site is located at 125 Savoy Road in Chesire, MA.
*Check out is by Sunday, June 28, by 1pm (your cars may remain packed and locked at campsite until 8pm) for 2 nights at either site and by Monday, June 29, by noon for 3-night guests at Solid Ground.
*Absolutely no cars permitted after 1pm on Monday, June 29, at Solid Ground. No cars permitted at Hoosac High on Monday, June 29.
*A maximum of 4 persons per plot, enforced; 1 medium-sized or 2 small tents permitted.
*For safety reasons, only registered campers displaying Solid Ground tent site wristbands will be permitted into the grounds.
*Ice will be available for purchase.
*No open fires or fireworks. Coleman-type camp stoves permitted.
*No glass bottles.
*No illegal substances.
*Quiet please: no generators from 11pm – 9am.
*Please note, there will be some on-site security, including 24 hour monitoring, but campers are strongly advised to not leave valuables in tents, and lock your cars. The City of North Adams, Hoosac Valley High School, and MASS MoCA will not be responsible for loss of valuables.
